The House Rob is Helping to Build

Rob is working in construction for one of his uncle Buddy's friends and fellow "Swamp Kooler," Mark Maricle. This house is above and south of the school in Jamestown and will be one of the "greenest" in Boulder county. The walls are made of blocks of concrete and recycled styrofoam with a pillar of concrete poured through a center hole once the blocks are in place. The resulting walls will be R40.

It has a nice, open, "Frank Loyd Wright" feel and design which brings the outside in.

Buddy & Anne's Land in the Bar-K

The Bar-K is further up the canyon from Jamestown and about 2,000 feet higher in elevation. The land Buddy bought is sheltered from the west from the wind - a good thing in that area, but if you walk a little ways in either direction you get a great view of the divide. The land is also zoned for horses and is right up against the common pasture for the Bar-K.

Hike in Pleasant Valley

Bill and I took a hike up beside the St. Vrain river from Camp Dick.

It was an easy, well-maintained, trail, with lots of wildflowers, and it mostly followed the stream.

We had a picnic on a large rock jutting out over the stream.

More flowers. Afterward we drove Peak to Peak highway looking for another trail Buddy had told us about. We didn't find the trail, but we did find this picturesque church.

Boulder Mall

I've decided this is the type of fountain I want to have someday south of the house (between the trees) instead of a garden pond so that it can be turned off and double as a patio. An organized concert in addition to the usual street performers. A street performer making balloon animals for the kids.
